A Beautiful Story

In the summer of 2000, 16-year-old Mordechai Kaler volunteered to help in the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville, MD. One of his responsibilities was to invite the residents to attend the daily services (minyan) in the synagogue on the first floor. Some agreed and others refused, but even those who declined were pleasant about it.

Evil Spirits and Possession

Q: Noah, can you explain to me to the best of your knowledge how people become possessed by evil spirits.
A: People are so filled with their own evil spirit, there may not be room for others, lol. Possessions seem uncommon in our times, since there are not many righteous souls who can even identify such possessions. Also, physical or mental illness could be spirits or it may not be. Most of the religious world today pays little, if no attention, to spirits.

Energy, Light, God?

Q: How to define the Creator of the Universe or comprehend the Creator of the universe.
Basically there is this struggle with What is God? Is it light, energy?

A: Hashem, the Creator, is neither light nor energy. This is a mistaken influence from Eastern and even Greek teachings. Both light and energy are substances, no matter how refined. They are substances of this world.

Belief and questions of Faith

Just a few notes: Every Jew is a believer, the child of believers. We naturally have the belief in G-d. You have this faith from birth and can never lose it. What you question are concepts. So if G-d were a concept or light or energy etc., then you would be right to question it and ask for proof.

Metatron - Enoch

Q: Was Enoch turned into the angel Metatron?
A: Chanoch (Enoch) was a great Tzaddik according to most sources, he was a shoemaker and with each stitch he united the worlds and Hashem, so when the world turned further evil, Hashem removed him from the world, alive, and turned him into the angel Metatron, who is so Holy we do not pronounce his name.
